The VXM4B-RT16 supports 3 recording modes:
NORMAL RECORD: In normal record mode, the VXM4B-RT16 will
record at a pre-defined frame rate according to the recording schedule.
The schedule can be programmed to record either continuously or on
event such as alarm input or motion detection.
Recording frame rates and schedules can be defined per channel, per
hour and either on a daily or weekl
y basis
INTENSIVE RECORD: In intensive record mode, the VXM4B-RT16 will
record at a pre-defined frame rate according to the recording schedule.
When an event such as alarm input or motion detection occurs, the
recording for the channel associated with the event will jump to D1
resolution at 25 frames per second.
PANIC RECORDING: When the Panic button is pressed on the front
panel, the VXM4B-RT16 will ove
rride all other recording settings and
record at the frame rates define in Panic Record set-up.
Hard Drive Monitoring
The VXM4B uses SMART technology to check the status of the
hard drives. Each hard drive constantly monitors its own operating
parameters – if any abnormalities are detected, the hard drive
passes this information to the VXM4B which will notify the operator
either by alarm output or email.
SMART monitoring ensures that potential data loss is avoided by
predicting hard drive failure before it happens thus allowing
preventative action and back-ups to be taken.
Watchdog
The watchdog is an independent part of the VXM4B system that
monitors the system firmware every 5 seconds. If the watchdog
detects any problem with firmware operation, it will automatically
reboot the VXM4B to ensure that recording operation is not
interrupted.
If a power cut happens on site, the watchdog also ensures that the
DVR restarts cleanly and continues recording once power has been
restored without any user intervention.

All recording times are based on highest quality, continuous recording at SIF (352 x
288) resolution, without audio. Recording times are given for guidance and can vary
depending on the nature of the scenes being recorded.
